Two Flags : Indie
The story focused on a single man, living a life of monotony within the microcosm of his forced existence; he lives the same day, seemingly without pause day after day, as his mind begs and wonders of something much more beyond the confines of the world he is confined to.
The window out of this world that he creates for himself is the presentation of memories of a past love screened on his TV screen, that he sits to enjoy every night with the coffee he makes every night. It’s the break in the stale monotony that makes him question the world around him and the world beyond the screen, the mirror or the doorway. The character is in a constant state of displacement and he is now beginning to see the world as a threatening, exclusive and restrictive place, at least, in the metaphorical sense. It’s about finding those moments that allow an escape from that. That is where the “visions” come into play.
