GHOSTS OF YOU tells the story about how we progress through life and the impressions we leave behind. The narrative pictures a young woman traveling, seemingly in a car, and the things she sees on her way. The video is made up of a collection of no more than 3-5 shots that form the spine of the piece. The video is a “moving window” of the landscape. In that regard, it’s made of a sequence anchoring the shots that are physically showing a sense of movement and describing the landscape.
The “GHOSTS OF YOU” is more rounded interpretation that people leave an impression with every step and move they make in life. It’s more about what we see as we pass through; our own walk of life amongst a sea of other walks in life, like overlapping street-ways. The video takes a less than conventional approach to maximize the more abstract feel within the style of the video. It’s about removing the dire aspect of just being set in a car but traveling through the characters mind by what we see and what we remember. The idea of playing with memory is in showing certain images through a camcorder view. The focus is about finding direction in life, making the most of it, staying the path and realizing your own steps mean something.
