The Verona Snow : Indie / Electronic

This concept was something I wanted to follow through on from the year before, without an adequate outlet. Initially conceived as a concept to test out some graphics/animations I had created for a short film idea, I recreated a DOS-like computer operating system taking memories that were digitally uploaded and arbitrarily deleting them. Looking for that outlet, I approached the guys in the band to cover one of their songs. Taking a bunch of previously shot assets and ideas and moulding them to this new concept, this was a fun way to experiment with different mediums, certainly for creating a video remotely when the band is located on the other side of the water.

Focusing on the post-apocalyptic visual themes (very apt for this day and age) the main narrative drive was about reminiscing about ‘better times’. These ‘times’ were actively being viewed and finally discarded. The idea that we use technology solely, within an abyssal void to creep on the past to make us feel better, also felt apt in this day and age. Adding to that also was the visual idea that the world around them was breaking down as they were ‘deleting’ the memories. The falling rubble was a visual metaphor for how the world is slowly breaking down and the possibility to ‘let it burn’ feels very literal.
