Black Talon : Metal

The story revolved around a lowly office worker, your typical 9-5 office employee whose desperate and sad existence is a complete non sequitur to the grace of mankind. He is a pathetic man who spends his free time alone and the remainder embroiled in the gears of the Society machine as an automaton. It slowly consumes his every day life and simple tasks and abilities become nulled and monotonous.

What originally was the case within the narrative, was the character was approached by a member of the “lunatic fringe”, the far extremist movement only to be tempted but presented by a deranged version of themselves. The more interesting concept was stripping it to it’s core and flipping it on it’s head; that his daily vocation is at it’s heart “lunacy”, that the ‘normal’ we perceive is the “fringe” we are constantly fighting, creating a much more controversial look at our Society, class system and working force at this present time.

It’s an incredibly creative and dynamic video with a genuine message at its heart. I think it is important in those rare occasions to not force an agenda or a view when the narrative can call for it but allow within the narrative it already supports to let it organically represent it’s own thematic concerns and view / opinion whilst still maintaining the entertainment factor of a music video.
