Isolation Film Fest Podcast - SQUIGLEY (2020)

Around about the time I kept myself busy during lockdown after being a new arrival to the States, I made Buttering, which was an unsuccessful entry to super-short film contest, and Squigley, that was submitted to the Isolation Short Film Festival. As part of the process, I put myself forward, like many other submitters, to be part of the podcast to accompany the Festival. As someone who ordinarily doesn’t partake in things like this, 2020 has shown that there is no time like the present so I jumped in with both feet. I think I do fine on the podcast, talking about the film and films in general, as much as half of what I remember about cinema, my teachings and my general interest has faded away over time.

I don’t have much love or hate for SQUIGLEY, being that I wish I was a bit more adventurous with it but it eventually was born out the necessity to be a part of something. It was always part of a group of films I was making, relatively quickly so, I never expected even the Cinematography nomination it garnered. It was a way of keeping myself busy during these trying times and if anyone liked the film, I genuinely appreciate it.
