UNIVERSAL THEE : Indie

My influences from horror films in general suited the concept of the song; focusing much on the “rise of Satan”, if not conventional from the music usually suited to the subject matter. it’s subject matter that I have and will continue to explore in future films and videos, preferably with a much more serious tone. Inspired by my own stereotypical view of Satanism; the virginal sacrifice and the worshipping of the devil, the primary influence being “The Satanic Rites of Dracula” (1973) and “Faust” (1926) yet downplayed sightly more tongue-in-cheek for comedic effect. Visually the video was decided well before the shooting; visualized mostly before the shoot, combining the monochrome withe sepia look to give it a uniqueness. Shot completely over one single day within a small enclosed room, the challenge came from the limited lighting and with the use of smoke. The fire was shot afterwards and layered into the video.
