Fiona Reid : Pop / Hip hop

The concept revolved around a single take continually moving shot within the club as Fiona meets and greets the variety of stereotypical characters that frequent the tired looking club environment. It was very much a reference to the characters I myself have met in clubs at times.

It became a very theatrical piece expecting some quite involved directing and on the spot rehearsal, as it was impossible to get every one together at the same time. The rehearsal was essential, not only for the performers but for my own camera moves that were timed to the song also.

Shot very simply with a handheld camera and an on-board light, there was a number of takes finally shot but it became the case of being the ultimate perfectionist. As each specific moment was a timed event to the song, any hiccups in an almost perfect take couldn’t pass for the final cut.
